This Variety was added to the show matrix in 2020.
The Standard for judging them is not the Australian (ANBC) standard used for all other varieties but the World Budgerigar Organisation (WBO) Standard.
There are basically three descriptions of the type of Budgie as we know it today
Wild or “Bush Type”, “Coloured Type” basically refers to Pet Type quality for the purposes of showing and “Show quality” which are regularly, incorrectly, referred to as English budgies. There is no such thing, they are all Australian.
There are thousands of breeders of these types of birds, and now they can join a club and show them, in their own class.
